2016 VACC Global Connections Highlights


Zhengzhou, China- December 2016- Representing Virginia’s Asian Chamber of Commerce at the invitation of Zhengzhou Sister City Program Director Kunli Zhang,  Zhengzhou Liaison representing Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce met with the Sister City Program staff in Zhengzhou to help the City of Richmond maintain the growing international diplomatic relationship between the two cities dating back since 1999.  A delegation of 12 members of the City of Zhengzhou and private sector came to meet our partner the Cioty of Richmond Economic Development Division and 300 attendants at the 2016 ProcureCon EXPO in Richmond.


VACC Greeted Ambassador of Japan

Washington DC- April 7, 2016 – Representing Virginia’s Asian Chamber of Commerce at the invitation of His Excellency Kenichiro Sasae, Ambassador of Japan, at the Ambassador’s Residence, VACC Chairman Tinh Phan and Executive Director My Lan Tran joined Ambassador Sasae at a Reception.


VACC Leadership Hosted Meeting with Hong Kong Trade Office from New York

VACC hosted a meeting to greet Mr Anthony Mak, Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to discuss partnership opportunities between the two agencies to benefit VACC members and Hong Kong.


VACC Assisted Mongolia In Doing Buisness with the USA

My Lan Tran- VACC Executor Director made a presentation at the Embassy of Mongolia in the United States in Washington DC at a meeting ( here with His Exc. E. Altangerel Bulgaa) to welcome the business delegation from Mongolia


Vastly ( Prior Tranlin) Ground Breaking Ceremony

On October 22, 2015, Mr. Tinh Phan, VACC Chairman and My Lan Tran, VACC Executive Director offered congratulations to Mr. Jerry Peng, the CEO of Tranlin Inc. at the company ‘s ground breaking ceremony attended by more than 300 guests.


Chinese Academic Community Connected with VACC 

On October 17, 2015, VACC Executive Director My Lan Tran again connected with several members of Chinese academia from Beijing at the 2015 Global Forum for Innovation Collaboration and Development in Herndon.  We met with Dr Yugui Guo, Director, Center for International Studies in Education -US Asian Cultural Academy – Beijing Normal University), Dr. Xiaowei Zhuang, Professor of Physics, Harvard University, Dr. Steven Lee, from Global Client Consulrting, and Dr. Prakask Ambegaonkar, an Indian think tank creator from DC area.


VACC Hosts “Building-Bridge” Solar Business Meeting To Help Create First Chinese Solar Project in Virginia


In September 2015, VACC Hosts “Building-Bridge” global business meeting to greet an active business executives delegation from Amerisolar from Shanghai & Amerisolar USA looking to establish a first solar energy factory in Virginia.


VACC Leadership Greeted Embassy of China Minister of Commerce

VACC has worked with various top elected officials from the Chinese Embassy dating back since the creation of our organization such as in 2006 the Chief Economist of the Embassy Dr. Jiansheng Wu visited the VACC membership not just once but twice to lecture on the important role of SME in Richmond at our monthly events each with over 100 attendants.
