APPRENTICESHIP

Based on fund availability, Virginia Asian Foundation offers several Internship Incentives for eligible students. This award program is a need-based award offered to help selected students off-set the cost of schoolbooks. Just like in the case of grant application, students must be eligible to be considered for stipends, when funds are available.

To be considered for the annual incentive stipend awards

There is no application for the award to fill out. You need to write us a one-page Letter of Interest. There is an active waiting list.

Academic standing and eligibility

Student interns must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program of study, have not earned a prior bachelor’s degree, and be in good academic standing.

Awards Selection

  • Priority is given to students who have not previously received this award.

  • Selected students are only eligible to receive one award per program year in an amount determined by the Virginia Asian Foundation.

  • The award is not payment for an internship. It is rather a stipend. This award is designed to off-set the costs of schoolbooks and offering students practical work experience and mentorship.  Students must intern a minimum of 10 hours or more weekly in order to be considered for the program, which is based on year by year funding availability.

  • This program is based on funds availability each year.
