Economic Insights Overview

Connecting Business, Innovation, Policy, and Opportunity

The Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce (VACC) Research & Economic Insights Center provides practical analysis and thought leadership on the issues shaping Virginia's economic competitiveness, business environment, innovation, workforce, entrepreneurship, and global commerce.

While VACC's core mission is to advance Asian American entrepreneurship and business leadership, we also examine broader issues affecting Virginia's economy because the success of Asian American businesses is closely connected to the Commonwealth's long-term economic prosperity and competitiveness.

Our research is designed to help entrepreneurs, small businesses, corporate leaders, economic developers, higher education institutions, investors, community organizations, and public-sector partners better understand emerging opportunities, market trends, and economic challenges.

Rather than collecting official statistics or administering government programs, VACC translates economic trends into practical business insights and encourages collaboration among Virginia's public, private, academic, nonprofit, and business communities.

Our Role

Virginia's economy is strongest when businesses, higher education, workforce organizations, economic development agencies, local communities, and industry partners work together.

VACC serves as a business-centered connector, bringing together perspectives from business, government, academia, and industry to encourage collaboration, informed dialogue, and long-term economic competitiveness.

How VACC Complements Virginia's Economic Ecosystem

Virginia benefits from an outstanding network of public agencies, educational institutions, and regional organizations that each play an essential role in strengthening the Commonwealth's economy.

Organizations such as the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), Virginia Works, the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD), the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC), GO Virginia, the Port of Virginia, regional economic development organizations, and local governments recruit investment, administer programs, develop policy, support workforce initiatives, collect economic data, and provide business resources.

Virginia's universities, research institutions, and the Virginia Community College System educate the future workforce, conduct research, commercialize new technologies, foster entrepreneurship, and strengthen regional innovation ecosystems.

VACC complements these efforts by providing an independent business perspective that connects economic trends, public initiatives, higher education, and industry with the practical needs of entrepreneurs, small businesses, employers, and diverse business communities.

Rather than duplicating the mission of government agencies, VACC helps connect ideas, organizations, and opportunities while translating economic developments into practical business insight.
